Recommended Ride:
- Route & Highlights (clockwise – short but sweet):Ojedo → Potes → Fuente Dé (CA-185, 20km). Iconic narrow gorge – limestone walls, river spray, cable-car photo stop at the top.
Fuente Dé → Puerto de San Glorio (1,609m, N-621, 30km). Flowing sweepers up to the windy pass – big views, quick mirador selfie.
San Glorio → La Hermida gorge (N-621, 45km descent). Dramatic drop through tunnels and cliffs – river thundering below, pure canyon joy.
La Hermida → Potes → Ojedo (N-621, 30km). Easy riverside wind-down in afternoon light, back to the hotel garage by lunch.

Booked by mistake. This hotel is not in Potes. Popular with motorcyclists off the ferry so a bit like a Brit budget hotel. Dining was fully booked but in hindsight probably a good thing. We walked to a nearby traditional Spanish diner. Breakfast was a good self service event.

Pros (+) A fine stopping off point. This is a great hotel to stop off on your way to/way back from a motorcycle trip through the Picos/Portugal/Spain etc. The bike parking in the car park is fine and I have stayed here a couple of times without any issues. The check in was quick, efficient and friendly, the bar is good and there are plenty of places to sit out and have a drink. My room was good with an excellent shower as well. There are a couple of local bars nearby as well as a small supermarket. The town of Potes is only a 20/25 minute walk away. This really is a decent stop over.
Cons (-) There was nothing about this stay (or previous stays) that I didn’t like. I suppose the only thing I would say is that the breakfast option is good rather than great – and left me unsatisfied.

Superb. Hotel is on the outskirts of Potes. Has secure parking. Very popular with motorcyclists. I ate in the restaurant which was very nice, particularly the local wine.

Ideal for motorcyclists. Bar and restaurant available if you don’t want to walk into town. The rooms were very clean, the staff friendly and the location was ideal for exploring the Picos region. It’s no wonder that so many people recommend it. We had four nights there and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Pros (+) Breakfast was self service and basic options. The Restaurant and bar service was very good. We found the road really noisy. Lots of British motor bikers. The pool was nice, chilly but refreshing.
Cons (-) Not much information available about what to do in the local area. Double bed was two singles pushed together, so not what was advertised.
